Forest certification study in Dang

Dang. Preliminary study has been started at two community forests in Dang district with the objective of their certification as per the international standard.
A team of forestry experts from Nepal and India carried out an on-site study of the community forests in Tulasipur Sub-metropolitan City in this connection on Tuesday.
The team led by forest certification expert AK Verma observed the Shree Ganesh Community Forest Users’ Group at Sub-metropolis-7 and the Nawadurga Community Forest Users’ Group at Sub-metropolis-9. The team interacted with the office-bearers of the community forest users groups as well as the forest users in these two sites. It also observed the community forests.
On the occasion, the team had informed the office-bearers and the forest users on the principles, standards and indicators of forest certification.
