Sriyanta Club wins Karate competition

Kathmandu. The Sriyanta Club has won the first Manmohan Memorial Karate competition.
Sriyanta bagged seven gold, four silver and eight bronze medals to win the competition that concluded on Saturday. The tournament was hosted by the Nepal Siteriyo Karate Association, Ghantaghar.
Bless Academy came second in the tournament with four gold, three silver and one bronze medals while Samata school finished third with three gold, one silver and eight bronze medals. In the competition held at Snow Apex School at Putalisadak, Arjun Kumar Bagchand of the organizer club and Aami Karki of Bless were declared the best male and female athlete of the competition.
Member-secretary of National Sports Council Keshav Kumar Bista and other guests gave away medals and prizes to the winners. The tournament was inaugurated by Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Sunar (Biswakarma).
A total of 288 athletes had competed in 23 different categories.
