Pokhara. A team of tourism entrepreneurs and media persons set out for India today to invite Indian tourists for a Pokhara visit.
The team will spread the message that it is the best season for Pokhara visit especially among the people of Patna, Banaras, Luck Now and other areas bearing the brunt of scorching heat. The team is also slated to hold an interaction with tourism entrepreneurs in various Indian cities.
According to Western Regional Hotels Association’s chair Bikal Tulachan, Pokhara is suitable to visit in every seasons. This five-day tourism promotional campaign is in force since the past six years and it has contributed to boosting up town’s tourism, too. It has been successful bringing a noticeable number of Indian tourists here.
The town, which is often described as a “piece of heaven”, offers the majestic views of Himalayas and Indian tourists arriving here are left spellbound by its spectacular beauty, he added. It is home to numerous lakes and ponds and caves as well.
As stated by Nepal Tourism Board province 4 office Chief Surya Thapaliya, most of tourists arriving here from India prefer to visit Muktinath, the famous religious shrine in Mustang. Entrepreneurs have found that an inflow of Indian tourists has gone up with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s religious trip to the Muktinath during his recent Nepal visit.
Tourism entrepreneurs in Pokhara wish to welcome Indian tourists not only in summer, but in all seasons, Association’s former chair Bharatraj Parajuli said. Of a total number of tourists visiting Pokhara, Indians make up some 60 percent.
