Govt.’s decisions transparent: Minister Banskota

Kathmandu. Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Banskota today directed spokespersons for various ministries to relay policies and programmes of the government to people in an easy manner and help them understand them.
“The government is government. You (spokespersons for ministries) should avoid explaining policies of any political party. This is the work of a political leadership. You should relay government’s policies and works through Medias and help people understand them,” he said.
He was speaking at an interaction on Role of spokesperson and information officers’ organised by the Ministry here today.
“Communicate ministerial decisions to media-persons in an easy manner so as to make them available to the people. But be sensitive in relaying news about diplomatic and international relations and security issues,” he asked the spokespersons.
On the occasion, Secretary at the Ministry, Mahendra Man Gurung echoed Minister Baskota, urging spokespersons for various ministries to communicate government’s policies and programmes in an easy way.
