Lalitpur. The Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) has been facing shortage of essential materials used in rescue operations during the disaster.
Metropolitan City Police (MCP) Chief Kadam Lal Maharjan shared that the LMC has nothing more than a hammer and digging tool.
Maharjan added, “The search and rescue operation conducted in the wake of the disaster requires a lot of materials. Be it in a small structure or big, rescue ought to be operated in any spaces or place. In lack of adequate rescue equipment and tools, rescue operation in the district has become difficult.”
Giving the inefficiency facing in rescue operation, the LMC has been informing its management repeatedly to procure more essential tools. The matter has been brought to the notice of the locally elected peoples too but to no avail.
The Local Governance Operation Act has entrusted the City Police with the responsibility for bringing into the effect the decision of the Judiciary Committee.
The City Police have been removing illegal buildings and cutting the tress despite not having proper equipments and tools. RSS
